Raleigh-Durham International Airport officials have an idea that has the potential to become a B-52 bombersized revenue blast for the RDU Airport Authority.
By gaining control of its wireless infrastructure, mainly wireless computer connections and cell phone calls, RDU could generate as much as $10 million in annual sales and lease revenue within five years of the program starting, says Dave Ziembicki, president of the Philadelphia-based consulting firm Airport Infrastructure Management.
