According to anew study by RHK, the North American xDSL market declined 44 percent to $729 million in the first half of 2001. Alcatel once again captured the lead position with a 49 percent share, up from 47 percent in 2000. Lucent followed with a 19 percent share, up from 13 percent last year, while Cisco held its 2000 share of 15 percent. The $729 million in revenue represents a 6 percent decrease from $778 million in the first half of 2000, and a44 percent drop from the $1.3 billion market of the latter half of that year.
