MONTREAL -- Eicon Networks Corporation, a worldwide provider of secure Internet connectivity products, today reaffirmed its commitment to providing high-performance VPN gateway solutions with the release of Version 2.3 of its Safepipe VPN Software. This upgrade responds to the growing need for easy, fast and secure connectivity between branch offices and corporate headquarters.

Version 2.3 of the Safepipe VPN Software offers increased functionality. The version is compatible with Eicon's Safepipe 3000 series VPN solutions and offers maximum interoperability with other VPN solutions based on the IPSec standard, such as those from Nortel and Cisco.

In addition, version 2.3 adds support for dynamic IP (PPP and DHCP based), fully supports PPPoE, and offers X.509 certificate authentication within the native Microsoft Windows 2000 VPN client. Support for Microsoft Windows 2000's built-in VPN client ensures increased flexibility and an easy alternative to Safepipe remote VPN clients for remote workers and branch offices seeking secure access to corporate networks.
