TOKYO, Nov 1 Asia Pulse - Domestic shipments of personal computers are expected to drop 12 per cent to 10.6 million units in the 2001 fiscal year, the first contraction in four years, according to figures released Wednesday by the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association.
The association, which had forecast a 12 per cent increase in shipments to 13.6 million units at the beginning of the term, revised its projection downward in the wake of falling demand from businesses.
Domestic PC shipments in April-September declined 10.1 per cent to 5.06 million units.
