SYDNEY, Nov 1 Asia Pulse - Australian maintenance unions are today continuing talks with Qantas over plans to freeze staff wages for 18 months.
Qantas chief executive Geoff Dixon last week briefed unions about the pay plan.
Australian Manufacturing Workers Union (AMWU) assistant national secretary Dave Oliver said the union would not accept a wage freeze.
The AMWU is meeting with Qantas management today to send a clear message about the pay proposal.
"Our members won't accept it because it's actually a pay cut not a freeze," Mr Oliver said.
