MANILA, Nov 1 Asia Pulse - The Philipppines' Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has begun emergency repairs on the southbound portion of the South Superhighway (SSH) Bridge in Manila.
DPWH Secretary Simeon Datumanong has asked the public to bear the inconveniences brought about by the repair work which is expected to last for 45 days.
DPWH undersecretary Manuel Bononan said the re-decking and retrofitting of damaged substructure involves the removal of deck slabs, sidewalks and railing, as well as the restoration of slope protection and the disposal of spoils.
