BEIJING, Nov. 1 /PRNewswire-China/ -- Chinese officials and representatives of major enterprises were on hand today to welcome MTI Technology Corp. (Nasdaq: MTIC), a leading provider of data storage solutions, as it formally established an operation in China. MTI will be working in China to provide enterprise storage solutions and professional services to the new Chinese information technology infrastructure.
Wilson Wan, vice general manager of IDC China, a leading international analyst firm for the technology industry, said that MTI's entry into China is perfectly timed.
"It coincides with the favorable trade relations now developing between China and the United States and with the vast investment China has made in its fiber optic highway and support of the 2008 Olympics," Wan said at a ceremony launching MTI's new office in the Beijing Telecom Hotel. "Governments and private enterprises have long benefited from the advanced capabilities of MTI's high-performance storage and disaster recovery solutions."
MTI provides the IT foundation for advanced enterprise network systems through its data storage hardware, consisting of SAN (storage area network) and NAS (network attached storage) solutions. The company invented much of the early, fundamental technology in RAID (redundant array of independent disks) and fault-tolerance and enjoys an extensive patent portfolio; its products are used today by many of the top 1,000 enterprises throughout North America and Europe.

Emery added that MTI plans to expand its sales and service operation in China with offices in Shanghai and Guangzhou as business volumes warrant.
