SYDNEY, Dec 31 Asia Pulse - Australia's telecommunications sector failed to rouse itself from a lengthly slump in the doldrums in 2002, but the pick up could be in sight.
The industry has been snagged on no real takeup of new technology by consumers, but participants have increasingly plugged third generation (3G) mobile services and other fastspeed data offerings as the way ahead.
Telcos, locally and overseas, have been doing it tough since the dotcom bubble burst in April 2000.
