Beijing, 8 August: The People's Bank of China (PBOC), the nation's central bank, issued a notice Thursday [8 August] asking commercial banks to step up their credit support for medium-sized and small enterprises.

When providing their credit support, the notice said, commercial banks should give priority to medium-sized and small enterprises with a good share of the market, a high level of efficiency and an unblemished credit record.
