"WHEN was she ever nice?"

A militant group claimed yesterday the President's change in image was not from Mrs. Nice Guy to crime-buster, but from "America's cute little puppy to America's pit bull."

"What Mrs. Nice Guy? President (Macapagal)-Arroyo was never nice in the first place," said Bagong Alyansang Makabayan secretary general Teodoro Casino.

If ever, Casino said, the President was "pleasant and amiable" only to the likes of US officials, tycoons Danding Cojuangco and Lucio Tan and other alleged cronies and big businessmen.

"(Ms Macapagal's) spin doctors are obviously having a hard time packaging and repackaging such a snooty and insensitive President," he said.
