South Korean World Cup star Park Ji Sung scored a goal and created another for Kyoto as surprising Purple Sanga stretched their unbeaten streak to a club-record tie nine games by defeating FC Tokyo 3-1 in a mid-table Division One clash Wednesday night.

Further up the J1 standings, leaders Yokohama F Marinos went two points clear of runners-up Jubilo Iwata as Sebastiao Lazaroni's men pounded Vissel Kobe 3-0 and improved to 32 points on their undefeated season. Jubilo needed extra time to down Sanfrecce Hiroshima 1-0 away and had to settle for two points instead of the full three.

Gamba Osaka won 3-0 over Tokyo Verdy 1969 at home to keep third place on 27 points.
