STORAGE and data protection software provider Veritas Software Corp is still bullish about opportunities for the local clustering market. According to its Asia South regional director Eric Hoh, there is tremendous potential in the areas of electronic business, online banking, airlines and hotel online reservations. "While industries such as the telecommunications, banking and manufacturing sectors are already deploying clustering software running on other operating systems, a few are starting to evaluate migrating to the Linux OS," Hoh told Computimes in Petaling Jaya last Tuesday. "Among those that have expressed an interest in migrating to Linux are Internet service providers, application service providers (ASPs) and telcos."
