Mining ministers from the diamond producing countries of southern Africa meeting in Botswana on Friday endorsed the Kimberley Process, which will certify their diamonds "conflict free". The ministers, along with non-governmental organisations and representatives of the diamond miners De Beers and Botswana's Debswana, are to meet in Geneva on November 5, to launch the certification process, which they are confident will stop so-called "conflict" or "blood" diamonds from entering the legitimate market.
