Prime Minister Taksin Shinawatra said that it was not necessary to create a communications holding company to hold shares in the Telephone Organisation of Thailand (TOT) and the Communications Authority of Thailand (CAT) before they privatise, Krungthep Turakij reported.

On 15 July the prime minister met with the president of the TOT Labour Federation and executives from TOT to explain his policy on TOT's privatisation plan.
