The council of the University of South Africa is expected to confirm on Wednesday an in-principle decision to withdraw a court application to prevent its merger with two other institutions. Education Minister Kader Asmal was scheduled to meet council chairman McCaps Motimele and principal Barney Pityana on Wednesday to discuss the merger with Technikon SA and Vista University's Distance Education Campus, Unisa spokeswoman Laurika Olwagen said.
