Napocor, Meralco agree to offer perks for heavier consumption.

ENERGY officials said yesterday they were working on new pricing incentives to further cut power rates in line with President Macapagal-Arroyo's promises in her recent State of the Nation Address.

In a news statement, Energy Secretary Vincent Perez Jr. said the National Power Corp. and Manila Electric Co. agreed, in principle, to offer perks for greater power consumption.

Napocor and Meralco have agreed to adopt a "declining block" structure that offers discounts for the use of electricity above normal consumption, Perez said.
