Erelu Olusola Obada, a governorship aspirant in Osun State in an encounter with Constance Ikokwu spoke on the emergence of new parties and what it portends for the politics of the state among other issues.

Many would agree that the emergence of new political parties in the country will no doubt alter the present political equation. What is not certain however, is how much impact these parties will make in the forthcoming elections.

It is obvious that the new parties need to do a lot of work if they are to make any meaningful in-road in the states where the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and the Alliance for Democracy (AD) hold sway. Presently, the PDP controls 21 states, ANPP controls 9 and AD has its strong-hold in the five South-west states.
