Chrysler calls the Crossfire its first sports car. We'd call it a very sporty gran turismo before we'd throw that sports car moniker on it, but then we're mighty picky about what we call a sports car. And when the company makes that claim, it's clearly not counting the Chrysler-badged Vipers sold overseas and campaigned at Le Mans-that's just a marketing dodge, er, Dodge.

In any case, the Crossfire is loaded with performance we haven't seen in Chrysler-brand cars in a generation. And it bodes well for this whole Daimler and Chrysler merger thing. Good things can come from shotgun weddings or seemingly nonhostile takeovers or however ...
