2003 MAR 19 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- An occult orbital neuroblastoma was detected after administration of an antitumor vaccine.

According to a study from the United States, "A 6-year-old girl with neuroblastoma developed swelling and erythema of her right upper eyelid following administration of an interleukin-2 and lymphotactin gene-modified allogeneic neuroblastoma cell vaccine."

"Computed tomography demonstrated a cystic lesion in the subperiosteal space," reported Matthew W. Wilson and colleagues at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center. "A biopsy of the mass showed necrotic neuroblastoma with minimal associated inflammation."
