True car guy
Regarding Dutch Mandel's Feb. 24 ``Car Guy Defined'' column: A car guy is always looking for driving perfection, trying to improve his driving skills, flowing through traffic as fast and smooth as possible without endangering his and fellow motorists' lives.
I'm a VW technician who learned how to read by reading car emblems on the road, and I've been reading car magazines since age 10, so I guess I'm a car guy.

Another Caterham memory
Thanks for publishing the 0-to-60 time (3.8 seconds) of the Caterham Seven (AW, Feb. 17). I had the pleasure (and terror) of riding in a similar Caterham around Saratoga Springs, New York. The car was driven by the ex-Olds racer Fil Fina, and he held nothing back. I remember Fil's car having even crazier specs than the Superlight R you profiled, but at least now I can put my bodily acceleration into historical perspective.
Fil did offer to let me drive. I must admit I declined. I don't consider myself great with throttle modulation, and it was raining pretty hard at that point.
