2003 MAR 6 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- The first U.S. clinical trial to test the effectiveness of Botox to smooth deep wrinkles and lines on the chin is being conducted in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The principal investigator is Dr. Kenneth Beer, a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist. This is the first clinical study to test the safety, effectiveness, and durability of Botox injections into the chin area. It will involve 20 women (between the ages of 18-75 years of age) in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial.
According to Beer, this area of the face is a common complaint among men and women who experience unsightly wrinkles that make them look aged and "angry."
