2003 MAR 6 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Agile Therapeutics, Inc., announced that an analysis of data from the Phase II clinical trial of its seven-day translucent contraceptive patch indicates that ovulation was suppressed by more than 95% throughout the three-month study.
The trial evaluated 225 menstrual cycles in which a transdermal system was applied for each of the first three weeks of each cycle followed by a week without any patch.
Importantly, results from this trial show lower than expected hormone-induced side effects and demonstrate an overall tolerability and safety profile consistent with expectations.
"Based on these results, Agile Therapeutics has begun to transfer the manufacturing of the patch to a large-scale GMP manufacturer. We are pleased with the results to date.
