In an area such as window treatments, Kmart combines a Martha Stewart Everyday presentation of curtains, valances and hardware with a range of private label goods--an arrangement that has become more common among discounters.
Kmart's Martha Stewart Everyday window treatments, launched in 1998, were set to provide a comprehensive assortment of products at a reasonable price. "We offer casual fabrics, sheer and lace. Additionally, our assortment consists of soft window goods and decorative window hardware. The price range varies: $2.99 for rods up to $39.99 for window treatments," said Nicole Dowswell, a Kmart spokesperson.
