Good question, one for which we have no definitive answer.
Even so... What Would Big Bill Think of NASCAR as it heads into its 55th season of turning (mostly) left and making ungodly batches of money?
``Big Bill'' is the late William Henry Getty France. He's the cat who mixed some of this, some of that and a little of something else in Daytona Beach in the late 1940s. The result was NASCAR, his alternative to Champ Car racing. He correctly figured that the good ol' boys down south in Dixie favored Hudson, Chevrolet and Oldsmobile race cars over open-wheel, open-cockpit cars from up north of The Line.
