Audi looker
When we told you about Audi's plans to show an A8-size 2+2 Touring Coupe in Geneva (AW, Feb. 3), we mentioned that the vehicle codenamed TC would bear a new front-end treatment that would become an integral part of all future Audi models. Although it remains unclear when the more sporting image (above) will debut, it will certainly grace the TC if and when it goes on sale in 2006.
Volvos lost
Volvo took the biggest hit-especially to its already tight supply of North American Truck of the Year XC90 sport/utility vehicles-when the Norwegian-registered Tricolor car-carrier sunk on Dec. 14 in the English Channel after colliding with another ship. Of the 2862 vehicles aboard the vessel, 2014 were Volvos, including 358 XC90s, 637 S60s, 173 V70s, 314 XC70s, 274 S80s, 119 S40s, 46 V40s, 67 C70s and the remainder in miscellaneous customer-owned Volvos. Saab lost more than 500 cars, mostly 9-3s, while BMW reported losing 335 3, 5 and 7 Series models.
