65 cars signed up for Sebring
For Sebring's 51st running on March 15, American Le Mans Series officials have decided to accept all 65 entries submitted before the Jan. 29 deadline. Sebring's pit road can fit 60 cars, but the ALMS has decided to take whatever action necessary to be able to start the five additional cars in the race. The field includes Bentleys, Audis, Corvettes, Ferraris, Porsches, Saleens and Vipers. Bentley, by the way, announced that Johnny Herbert, Mark Blundell and David Brabham will drive the second car (AW, Jan. 13).
Dana inks Infiniti Pro Series ride
Open-wheel racer Paul Dana has signed to drive for Kenn Hardley Racing during the 2003 Infiniti Pro Series season. Dana, a St. Louis native and former AutoWeek staffer who lives in Indianapolis, worked as a mechanic and driver at the Bridgestone Racing School in Canada. During the 1998-99 season, he moved to Indianapolis and ran in the Barber Formula Dodge series, where he earned six wins, 10 other top-three finishes and seven poles. He also was invited to the inaugural Formula Dodge National Championship shootout. Dana ran the U.S. F2000 championship in 2001, with his best finish a third place. Kenn Hardley Racing is a new Pro Series team based in Pittsboro, Indiana. Owner Kenn Hardley founded Integrated Services, a transportation, logistics and warehousing company.
