The compromises agreed upon by the FIA at the second meeting of the Formula One Tech-nical Working Group, on the timing of driver-aid bans during 2003 (AW, Jan. 27), appear to have satisfied the short-term concerns of the F1 manufacturers. BMW Motorsport director Gerhard Berger said, ``In order to reach a sensible solution, the FIA initially made drastic and ambitious demands. That was just a precondition for proper discussions. Now these discussions have been held and most of the proposals have been approved, but in a different time frame. So everyone has enough time to get used to the new regulations.''
