On the heels of their decision to expand its market beyond its San Marcos base, the people at Discovery Valley Bank decided to drop "Valley" from its name.
"As we expand, we felt that Discovery Valley was a somewhat limiting name and too closely associated with the Discovery Valley of this area," said CEO Jim Kelley. "Plus, most people already call us Discovery Bank."
The bank that opened in September 2001 has a single office in Lake San Marcos, and while the lease has been signed, won't move into its Poway office until February or March.
