Many readers of our Dec. 23 report on the changing of Europe took us sharply to task. "Chucking Mozart for McDonald's?" sneered one. "Europe is about Shakespeare and the Sistine Chapel," wrote another. One who agreed with us said, "We need to break down the barriers that divide today's world."
