When Annie Nash paints, she always wants to tell a story.

But it's not just bold brush strokes or controversial images or a particular color that tell the tale.

Instead, she will enhance the work with a word, a phrase, or even entire sentences around and within the canvas.

This is usually done through pasting a newspaper article or hand painting the words on the canvas, and thus defines her work as mixed media.
