Greg Brown had maybe a day to enjoy his Manzano boys basketball team's overtime win against Albuquerque Academy, which is coached by his father, Mike.

But no trash-talking and no rubbing it in, because there's no time. Like other teams around the state, Brown said he and the Monarchs are focused on the district schedule, set to begin this week.

"This is the point of the season we have been looking forward to," Brown said after his team defeated the Academy 54-48 on Saturday in what is believed to be the state's first father vs. son coaching matchup.
