The press was interviewing Ford design veep J Mays after his address on the Ford Faction concept when he suddenly excused himself in a dash. Was he set to be ill? Was he feeling pressure from the hardball questions? No. Some ``journalist'' had decided to sit on the Faction's left-front fender and Mays went to shoo him off.
At the cool and hep Scion press launch, Toyota PR czar Irv Miller introduced his boss Jim Press as the ``executive vice president and cheap operating officer.'' Press, never one to miss an opportunity, noted the ``cheap'' referred to the fact that ``We add great value to our products.'' Miller remained employed at the end of the day.
Press noted Scion's target market. ``Over the next 10 years, 63 million people will get their driver's licenses. That's a good reason to not go out driving at 3 a.m.''
