IN MY OCTOBER 2002 COLUMN ("TAKING CHARGE," p. 33), I talked about the dilemma faced by many school librarians who want to control their school libraries' Web sites but aren't allowed to. Instead, many librarians are required to work with technology specialists who claim sole control not only of what goes on the library's Web site, but also how it's designed. I suggested that librarians should respond by pointing out that they are experts in presenting information that builds information literacy skills.
