Sericol, the screen printing inks and consumables business, has been sold by Burmah Castrol to New York-based investment company Saratoga Partners for pounds 72m (dollars 115m) in cash and assumed debt.

A spokesman for Sericol UK said there would be no immediate change for customers and that the sale could mean expansion.
