2003 JAN 8 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Selected healthcare personnel at Centegra Health System will receive smallpox vaccinations as part of the Illinois Department of Public Health's smallpox vaccination program.
The first phase of the program requires 200 healthcare workers from strategic departments at Centegra Northern Illinois Medical Center (NIMC) and Centegra Memorial Medical Center (MMC) to gain smallpox immunization. Centegra personnel to receive the smallpox vaccine include those in the emergency departments, intensive care units, pediatric intensive care units, and infection control, as well as respiratory therapists, radiation technicians, security, and housekeeping personnel.
