Industry heavy hitters are throwing their weight behind a campaign to slash VAT on recorded music with the BPI, Aim and Bard backing a cross-industry meeting in Brussels today.

The industry coalition argues recorded music, which is currently subject to VAT rates as high as 25% in some European countries, should benefit from the lower rate enjoyed by other cultural goods like books.
