French media and communications group Vivendi Universal (VU) has now decided to sell its 40.4 per cent stake in environmental services group Vivendi Environnement (VE) in two tranches, the first immediately, to fund a counter bid for telecoms group Cegetel. VE's new capital structure is now close to finalisation, with only 6 per cent of its capital reportedly left to place yesterday morning.
