No-frills airline Virgin Blue was reported to be ready to start a cut-price service to Asia, starting with Singapore, after New Zealand dropped from its radar.

Richard Branson's Australian-based airline will be filing applications in the next few days to operate flights from Australia to Singapore, the airline's head of commercial operations, David Huttner, told the Straits Times.

"The airline is also exploring options to fly to Malaysia, Indonsia and Brunei," the report said Saturday.

Branson signalled early this month the airline would be selecting about six Asia-Pacific destinations for an expansion program …
