THE MILITARY yesterday announced that it has deployed 16 more bomb-sniffing dogs in Metro Manila and placed more than a battalion of troops on alert in preparation for the coming All Saints' Day.

The 16 dogs were lent to the Philippine National Police and would be deployed in vital installations like oil depots, mass transport facilities, shopping malls, other public places and areas frequented by foreigners. Other places classified as "priority targets of terrorists'' would also be covered in Metro Manila.
