The US Secretary of State Colin Powell is scheduled to arrive in Luanda on 5 September. The visit is in connection with the Angolan peace process and the humanitarian situation prevailing in the country.

Justina Pitra, Angola's ambassador to the United States, says the visit will focus on the country's peace process and bilateral cooperation.
