ELAINE Sherrard Parkgate pony breeder and exhibitor, collected an armful of trophies when Ahoghill Fair Committee held their awards night in Galgorm Community Centre, Ballymena on Friday night last.

In addition to receiving the Alex Hoy Cup for the championship, Elaine was the recipient of five other top trophies which were as follows: Fair Cup for the brood mare up to 12.2hh; the Frank Dickey Trophy the young pony championship; the Bertie Fleck Trophy for the brood mare championship; and two Fair Cups, one for the best foal out of a mare up to 12.2hh and the other for the best three year old pony.

The Samuel Workman Trophy for 15.2hh in riding class, went to Samuel Workman, jun. of Cullybackey who had been riding Northern Star. He also received a Fair Cup for two-year-old horse.

The Campbell Trophy for coloured horse or pony was awarded to Louise Gillespie, Portglenone who also received the Fair Cup as winner of the 13.2hh riding class.

The Marcus Cup for first place in 14.2hh was awarded to Eleanor McCullough, Ballyvallagh Road, Raloo, Larne.
