APPOINTMENT

Internet Software Consortium Inc., which was founded in 1993 to develop and publish high quality reference implementations of core Internet protocols, such as DNS, has appointed Jun Murai as a member of the board. Murai, chairman of the WIDE (Widely Integrated Distributed Environment) project and a professor at Keio University's environmental information department, is expected to further the consortium's core mission to create and support commercial quality reference implementations of core Internet protocols. The WIDE is a new computer environment based on operating systems and communications technology. The project aims to focus on computer science and engineering through operating systems, communications technology and applied technology.

AUTOMOBILES

Mitsubishi Motors Corp. has announced that the company will replace all heavy-duty vehicle wheel hubs that were not replaced during recent voluntary inspections free of charge.
