Fei Skye led the group in a shawl ceremony that is based on the Dakota/Lakota values of honor and importance of praying for good things, for oneself, for one's family, and for others. As the ceremonial shawl was passed on to each of the young women participants, as well as the Roundtable facilitators, they made the following wishes/prayers:
I wish for a safe trip home and I hope when my children get there they are all OK.
I wish my mom love and support.
I wish I had more time for everything I want to do.
I wish to be a better mother.
I wish that everyone has a safe trip home
I wish that all the young women here would know who they are and find the power they have. That they all would know they have ancestors to value.
