As a way to engage in a dialogue regarding the participants' issues and concerns, this question was posed: "What difficult things do you personally experience in your lives as Native American young women?" Their responses follow (in their own words or slightly paraphrased).
What difficult things do you personally experience in your lives as Native American young women?
* living in town and, going to school where people are prejudiced;
* when I go to a different town, the people "stare-at you;"
* being blamed as an Indian for "bad things," fights, theft that non-Indians do;
* teens sell drugs at school;
* by looking Indian, how we look and dress, people stereotype and act prejudiced towards us;
