2002 DEC 18 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Vical, Inc., (VICL) reported revenues of $2.5 million for the third quarter which ended September 30, 2002, compared with revenues of $2.4 million for the third quarter of the prior year.
Revenues for the 9 months ended September 30, 2002, were $6.5 million compared with $6.6 million for the 9 months ended September 30, 2001.
The net loss for the third quarter of 2002 was $10.2 million or $0.51 per share, compared with a net loss of $2.6 million or $0.13 per share for the third quarter of 2001. For the 9 months ended September 30, 2002, Vical's net loss was $20.5 million or $1.02 per share, compared with a net loss of $7.8 million or $0.39 per share for the first 9 months of 2001.
The company had cash, cash equivalents, and marketable securities of $119 million at September 30, 2002, compared with $134 million at December 31, 2001.
