A spin on new RX-8
I lusted for the gorgeous Alfa Romeo Brera (AW, July 29), even if it was unrequited love, as the car won't be produced. So it comes as high praise that I find similar excitement with your Nov. 25 cover story on the RX-8. It's a car with character that is attainable by mere mortals, and is suitable as a daily driver that can haul the family on weekends.

Lights out
Instead of dropping the EV1 (AW, Nov. 25), GM should keep it until it's able to offer the fuel-cell alternative. As a longtime car enthusiast, and after six years of driving an EV1, I'm now committed to only buying zero-emission vehicles in the future. Jordan Harris, Belvedere, Calif.
GM must like killing off its unique vehicles (EV1), and keeping the mainly mundane (Buick). EV1 fans can park next to us Oldsmobile owners at Antique Automobile Club of America shows. You bring the soda, we'll bring the Evereadys.
