The Seoul Motor Show-a Korean-only biennial event that measures, in total cubic feet of exposition space, little more than the average American sport/ute-may not make it onto your radar screen, but the world should take notice. With unheard-of warranties and development strategies ratcheted into high gear, the major Korean automakers are setting their sights no lower than conquering the automotive world, led in part by the upstart Kia Motors.
Despite cornball marketing phrases like ``Happy Driving for Your Life!'' and ``Better Cars for More People,'' Kia Motors Corp. president and CEO Noi-Myung Kim assured the international crowd at the Seoul show that ``Kia Motors, along with [parent company] Hyundai Motor Company, aims to become a global top-five automaker by the year 2010.''
