Shaw stuff
* With winter and the racing off-season upon us, what better time to plan indoor activities? The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum honors three-time Indy 500 winner Wilbur Shaw with a display of his accomplishments that runs through fall 2003.
Shaw, who died in a plane crash the day before he turned 52 in 1954, won the 500 in 1937, 1939 and 1940. His Borg-Warner Trophy plaques for those victories, as well as his Prest-O-Lite trophy for winning twice in a row, are among featured artifacts. Other items on display include Shaw's AAA national championship awards and the ``Water from Wilbur Cup,'' which Shaw, speedway president and general manager from 1945 to 1954, presented to the 500 victors. Also check out Shaw's winning Maserati, which is on permanent display. Call (317) 492-6784 for details.
