David L. Nelson, director of residential brokerage, has been named a vice president at The Beach Co.

Nelson, who joined The Beach Co. in 1991, has been involved in the real estate industry for more than 15 years. He has experience in construction, development, market analysis, design experience and on-site sales experience. Nelson is a native Charlestonian.

gdc

gdc, a locally owned home decorating store with two locations in the Charleston area, has added four staff members.

Mary Scott Mclaurin has been named project manager. She will be in charge of executive-level special projects. She has been with gdc for six years and previously managed the Mount Pleasant store. She is a graduate of College of Charleston with a degree in political science.

Anne Padgett has been named manager of gdc's Mount Pleasant store. A College of Charleston graduate with a degree in art history, she has been with gdc for four years. She started in the fabric department and her most recent position was that of manager of gdc's West Ashley location.

Catherine Cooper has been named manager of gdc's West Ashley store. Cooper, previously assistant manager of the West Ashley store, has been with gdc for one year. She has more than 20 years of retail management and training experience.

Jerome Manigault has been named manager of gdc's distribution center. Manigault, who has experience in logistics, supply and management, is a 24-year Army veteran, who reached the rank of master sergeant. He is a Charleston native and Burke High …
