A wait-and-see policy should not be used routinely after endoscopic sphincterotomy for bile-duct stones instead of proceeding to a planned laparoscopic cholecystectomy, said Dr. Djemila Boerma of the Academic Medical Center, Amsterdam, and colleagues.
